Pez

Since Patricia de Salas and Beatriz Mezquíriz opened the doors of Pez in 2004, the space has become a reference for sophistication and style.

The bright store, 300 square meters open on the site of an old military pharmacy, was betting on a series of brands that until then no one was selling in Spain despite the fact that they were beginning to be leaders in the best trend circuits in Europe.

A few metres away, on the same street, the premises of an old carpet workshop now house Pez casa, conceived with the same principles and personal taste of its founders.

Pez, exquisite and refined like a corner of Paris but at the same time pragmatic and urban like a New York establishment, quickly became the favourite store for anyone who thinks that elegance and demand are not at odds with comfort and modernity.

Stylists, actresses, artists, models... the city's bohemian and elite find in Pez the luxury of dressing in timeless garments without giving up the trends of each season.

More than just a typical shop, Pez is an extension of the wardrobe and home of its owners, whose ambition from the very beginning was to create a place where work never became routine and where the things they like to buy were sold. From Golden Goose, an Italian vintage luxury brand that in just a few years has turned its boots and trainers into true collector's items that create addiction, to Humanoid, the Belgian house that understands minimalism and comfort as the perfect way for an urban, hard-working and sexy woman, or the inimitable scarves and shawls by Faliero Sarti, a true example of Italian artisanal luxury. International brands (Nili Lotan, Forte-Forte, Equipment, Paola D'Arcano...) and also national ones, such as Masscob, the Galician brand that perfectly understands the current sense of femininity and Sansoeur, with its elegant and minimalist jewellery.

And in contrast to the practical garments, there are the most exclusive treats. Antique jewellery and clothing capable of awakening all the senses and stellar designer brands that can only be found in this Madrid store, the only one in Europe where you can find the exclusive Japanese Noguchi jewellery, whose delicate unique pieces of gold and brilliant grey, white and yellow are one of the best kept secrets of the shop.

Beyond the effortless chic that characterizes the style of the store, Pez has an intelligent selection of furniture (industrial and Danish), porcelain, rugs and lamps that complete the “home” that Beatriz and Patricia dreamed of for their clientele.

The uniqueness of vintage furniture and lamps, in Nordic or industrial style, carefully recovered by Ercol and Bombay, combines perfectly with products brought from all corners of the world and handcrafted using techniques that are often in danger of extinction. The Parisian house Astier de Villatte creates its own ceramics inspired by original pieces from the 18th and 19th centuries. The hands of its craftsmen, mostly Tibetan, make each piece unique in its beautiful imperfection. Faithful to the same philosophy, its scented candles and stationery exude the exquisiteness of the traditional way of making. From India come the Injiri quilts and cushions, handmade with organic cotton. The elegant lines of the ceramics from Laon Pottery reveal the Korean origins of the artist-craftswoman who shapes them and moulds each piece with her own hands like a work of art. The Portuguese brand Mantecas, 100% wool blankets, combine the value of the natural resources of the Serra da Estrela with the art and traditional know-how of artisan weavers. Also from Portugal are the colourful Alentejo rugs from Mizette, which contrast with the white cotton of the cushions and rugs from the French brand Honorè. Society and Maison de Vacances are the brands responsible for dressing the table with their washed linen tablecloths and napkins. The Dutch brand Ay Illuminate also believes in the importance of preserving the cultural identity present in traditional techniques and for this reason its designs are based on the way of working natural materials from different cultures in Asia and Africa.

Clothes, furniture, jewellery, bags, shoes, boots… Pez belongs to that exclusive group of stores in the world that have managed to demonstrate that some multi-brand spaces are the most personal and contemporary response to the beauty, comfort and lifestyle that we all wish to achieve.
